Oyo started with just 11 rooms in Gurgaon but now boasts of 1,43,000 rooms in about180 cities pan India and 330, 000 rooms in almost 500 cities globally. It is marked as India’s fastest-growing and largest hotel-chains serving people with budget accommodation.
She is the founder of the popular website YourStory. She started YourStory with the aim of telling stories of entrepreneurs just like her. Later, it gained so much popularity that it has a loyal readership of about 10 million readers per month and has 72,000 articles in its catalogue. YourStory is all about innovating, successful and brilliant entrepreneurs which can motivate and inspire young and upcoming entrepreneurs.
Azhar started “News in Shorts” for people who are short on time but still want to be updated with what’s going on around them. He was an IIT Delhi alumnus who decided to curate the news that is short and crisp for the people who are always on the go. “News in Shorts” conveys every piece of news within 60 seconds and is a perfect solution for lazy and short on time people to read vital news in a matter of minutes. It started as a Facebook page but recently received Rs. 25 crores in funding. The company has already touched the heights of success and still heading to get more out of it.
Sachin started Flipkart which was the first idea in India for doing online business on such a huge platform. Flipkart has escalated to one of the biggest e-commerce websites in India presently. Flipkart started as an online bookstore but now sells everything online which is sold in retail markets in India. He was an IIT graduate who worked for Amazon before starting Flipkart. But he started the company in 2007 and sustained on the position for 11 years long period.
Nandan is the proud owner of Swiggy which has completely revolutionised the food delivery and food industry in India. He started it from a small business of delivering food in the neighbourhood and then later expanded it into a big enterprise. From a street hawker to a big restaurant chain, Swiggy has a huge base of restaurants as well as customers who use it on a daily basis. Swiggy has calculated approx. 1.5 million orders on a daily basis in October 2019 which is almost double the last year’s numbers.
Vijay Shekhar Sharma
Vijay Shekhar Sharma has founded the mobile payments company Paytm and is counted among the top billionaires in India. His first establishment was “XS communications” which created content management systems. Later, he went on to found India’s most trusted mobile payment company (One97 communications) Paytm.
He belonged to a small town in Aligarh and succeeded to start a fast-rising digital mobile wallet company. The company, during the demonetization, reached 400 million users and 20 million transactions on a regular basis. He also started Paytm mall and Paytm payments bank lately.
Sridhar Vembu is a popular name for founding the cloud-based software company, Zoho. He is IIT, Chennai and also holds a PhD in electrical engineering. He first founded AdvetNet Inc. which he transformed into an online program and application provider and then ultimately became a renowned tech name in the corporate sector. Now it is a big name in the industry making software and business applications.
Deepak Ravindran is the founder and CEO of the Bengaluru-based company Innoz technologies. He was a brilliant science student but he dropped his college to start his first venture. He started Lookup ensuring that the customers can easily get in touch with the merchants without having met them. Innoz technology was the SMS based search engine that transformed into a successful platform. He co-founded three companies overall that makes him one of the best leaders in India.
